Hi Parents,
We have reached the end of Second Grade and it really
has gone by fast! They are excited and ready for third grade
and I am very proud of them all! Next week will be a little review
and hopefully alot of fun! Monday and Tuesday are full days
with regular schedules and then Wednesday and Thursday
are half days with dismissal at 11:15. I want to thank you all
for a wonderful year and I have really enjoyed your
children! Have a safe and restful summer!

Plans for April 30th-May 4th
Hi Parents,
We have had a good week! The book reports went very
well and they all did a good job! I loved the costumes
and the help you gave! You have probably heard that
my daughter is getting married next Saturday so I will
be out on Thursday and Friday being "Mother of the
Bride". I am posting most of the assignments for the
next two weeks.
Bible-Matthew 28:19-20 is due Friday May 4th.
That is the last memory work other than
something we do in class.
Reading-We are finishing up the last unit
of our book and we will be doing
some end of the book activities and
reviewing skills.
Language-We are reviewing and will be
concentrating on nouns and verbs
this week and adjectives next week.
Spelling-Lesson 34, words with prefixes on
pages 216-221 and next week Lesson
35, words with suffixes on pages 222-227.
Math-Pages 255-264 on measurement and next week
we will go on to capacity and weight.
Science-Continue with Matter.
Social Studies-Begin Unit 6 on People and
Places in History. Our Map
Test is Wednesday May 2nd.
Reminders: The U.S. Map Test is Wednesday! We are working on it

skills this week.

Spring Break is here! I think everyone is ready for
a break and some rest and relaxation! We had our Science
Fest this morning and it went very well and was lots

favorite time of day and we've missed it some
this week, so we're ready for the sun to come back!
Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday so we've read some of his
books and done a couple of activities for that. We had
a very nice Chapel yesterday that we all enjoyed

Hi Parents,
I can't believe we are about to begin March, this year is
flying by! We had a good short week and especially
enjoyed our reading story about Jalapeno Bagels. We had
Chango bars one day that a sweet mother baked for us
and today, I brought in bagels and we put our choice of
jam, cream cheese, peanut butter or apple butter on them.
It's always a treat to eat something special in the classroom!

Matthew 22:37-39. I will send
a handout with this on Monday.
It will be due Friday March 10th.
Reading-We will read the story "Carousel"
on pages 221-251.

some! Now we are looking forward to
a 4-day week and Valentine's Party! The
party will be from 2:00-2:50 on Tuesday.
Our bags are ready and hanging up so they
can bring their Valentine's in on Monday
or Tuesday. We will be out of school next
Friday and Monday so we will have a

Plans for January 30th-February 3rd
Hi Parents,
We have had a good week and we're excited
about teaching others about the Flamenco spanish
dance. The children have worked hard and are
doing a great job! We are all looking forward to
wrapping up our Spanish study but it has been
fun and we have learned a lot about Spain.
Our classroom looks like outer space right now
so if you're out come by and see all our planets,
they did a great job!

about dinosaurs and end of the
theme activities.
Language-Pages 247-248 on adjectives.
Spelling-Lesson 22 on words with sounds like
"book" and "took" on pages 144-149.
Math-Pages 101-109 on money.
Science-Pages 328-340 on the moon, seasons,
and Earth's orbit.
Social Studies-We will be reviewing Unit 3
and we will have a test on it
on Thursday.

Plans for Jan. 23rd-27th
Hi Parents,
We have had another good week! We're enjoying
our trip to Spain and learning alot of interesting
facts. We have also started learning the Flamenco
dance which is interesting with 20 second
graders but at the same time it's been fun!
Planets are appearing and they are very
excited to bring those in, so thank you
for your help with those!

is Psalm 27:1 due Friday Jan. 27th
"The Lord is my light and salvation-
whom shall I fear? The Lord is
the stronghold of my life-of
whom shall I be afraid?"
Reading-We will be reading "The Great
Ball Game" on pages 88-109.
Language-Continue with adjectives on
pages 243-250.
Spelling-Lesson 21 on pages 138-143,
words with the vowel sound you
hear in tall.
Math-Pages 405-408, and review adding
and subtracting 3-digit numbers.
Science-Pages 324-340, the moon and
seasons.
Social Studies-Pages 136-143 finishing
up Unit 3 and reviewing.
Reminders:On Friday we will complete our study of
Spain with lots of fun activities. The children should
come to school dressed in their Spanish attire and
bring their uniforms to change into. Thank you again

Plans for Jan.17-20th
Hi Parents,
We have had a fun week. I think the children really
enjoyed the Planetarium! They have worked hard
and are enjoying our Space unit.They are also
looking forward to their day off on Monday!

Plans for Jan. 9th-13th
Hi Parents,
We just landed in Spain and we had a very
smooth flight! We have launched our month
long study of Spain. I was glad to see my
class return all safe and sound from the
holidays! I hope you all had a nice break.
Next Tuesday the 10th we have a Fathers
field trip to the Planetarium. We need to
leave Trinity by 9:00 and we should be
back by 11:00. Just let your child know
if you can come. Mothers, grandfathers, etc.
are always welcome also.
Following are plans for next week:
Bible-Jeremiah 29:11 is due Friday the 13th.
Reading-We will read "Officer Buckle and
Gloria" on pages 16-51.
Language-We will finish up writing instructions
and write an instructional paragraph.
Spelling-Lesson 19 on pages 126-131,words
ending with "s" or "es". The test
and dictation will be on Friday now
every week.
Math-Pages 391-402 subtraction with 3-digit
numbers.
Science-Pages 312-327 on the solar system.
Social Studies-Pages 116-129 on community

Plans for Jan.4th-6th
Hi Parents,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday
and enjoyed your time with family and friends. I am looking
forward to seeing the children tomorrow and hearing about
their Christmas! We have an exciting January planned with
many activities. Next week we have our Fathers Field trip
to the Planetarium. We plan to leave Trinity at 9:00 and we
should return by 11:00. Also this month we will be involved
in a cultural study of Spain.
The following are our plans for this week:
Bible-The memory work is Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you,
declares the Lord, plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future." This will be due
January 13th.
Reading-Introduce Amazing Animals on pages
10-15.
Language-Writing instructions on pages 206-212.
Spelling-Lesson 18 on pages 120-125. This is a review
lesson and we will not have a test this week.
Math-Pages 383-390 on 3-digit subtraction. We will
start timed subtraction test next week.
Science-We will begin our unit on the Solar System,
pages 308-315.
Social Studies-Pages 116-125, on goods and
services and using a compass rose.
